Ashley and Blythe are lifelong friends and sisters-in-law, who even share the same birthday, but what they have in common doesn’t stop there. They are wives, mothers, deeply involved in their community, and proud business owners of Eliza James Kids! Ashley recently celebrated 15 years of marriage and is the mother of two precious children — Louise (7th grade), and James (2nd grade). Blythe has been married for 13 years and has four sweet children — Cecilia (5th grade), Eliza (3rd grade), Loggins (1st grade), and Tommy (4 yrs).
After becoming mothers, we quickly realized how much we loved outfitting our children in classic southern clothing. At the time, we were both working outside of the home, and we saw an opportunity to work, but still be home with our kids by starting a children’s clothing company.
Keeping the theme of our new venture in mind, we named the business Cecil and Lou — inspired by our children!
During the last few years of running Cecil and Lou, we discovered a huge need among our customers — the ability to purchase darling smocked, monogram, and applique clothing that is in stock and ready to ship! To meet this need, we launched a second business in April 2016, Eliza James Kids, which is named after two more of our sweet children! Now you’ll be able to order that precious gift on Monday and get it in time for the birthday party on Saturday.
We are also thrilled to give back a portion of every EJK purchase to organizations serving the community.
Ashley is a Texas Tech Marketing graduate, and Blythe graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Communications, so together, we make the perfect team!
Because we are family, we greatly enjoy traveling to the beach together and other family-oriented events. Sometimes we even get the pleasure of seeing little ones out on the beach wearing the latest summer wear from Eliza James Kids!
We absolutely love running Eliza James Kids, interacting with our wonderful customers, and seeing photos of precious little ones wearing our designs!
